Join the “Open Educational Ideas and Innovations” Day 7 September in Berlin

We are pleased to announce that Monday 7 September 2015 will be dedicated to open educational ideas and innovations. The programme will offer several workshops to foster real collaborations around open education from very early ideas, up to discussions on existing resources, on-going activities, and policies.

Who is it for?

  • For Open Education “Pros” if you are currently engaged in initiatives around open textbooks, courses, other resources, but also open policies or research on the topic
  • For Open Education “Newbies” if you would like to learn more about this hot and relevant topic for all educational sectors
  • For educators, researchers and policy-makers that are interested in hands-on collaborations on the spot and engaging discussions

Who are key facilitators/speakers?

Marci Powell

Marci PowellMarci Powell is President/CEO of Marci Powell & Associates. Before starting her own consulting firm, Marci was Global Director for Education and Training at Polycom and prior to that, Director of Educational Advocacy at AT&T. She currently serves as Chair Emerita with the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), where she has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2003 and served as president in 2007/2008.

Andreia Inamorato dos Santos

andreia_inamorato_dos_santosAndreia is a Research Fellow at the European Commission’s Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) based in Seville, Spain.  Currently, her research focuses on the accreditation of informal and non-formal learning, Open Education Resources (OER) and strategies for higher education institutions to become open education institutions (OpenEdu).

The Idea Spaces

All workshop facilitators will create and customize an online workspace to foster collaboration also pre- and post-workshop. The Idea Space platform is created specifically to ease collaboration and idea sharing on open education from the initial brainstorming until the final product/result and its evaluation/revision.

How much does it costs/Is there a participation fee for the event?

Participation in “Open Educational Ideas and Innovations” Day 7 September and the EduCamp 4-6 September is free of charge.
